Caught in the Web deals with issues such as bullying, personal security and social media and helps children at a young age make good decisions based upon sound educational advice. In Caught in the Web, Barney helps Echo and his friends to face the potential dangers of going online. With the help of Tom Stoat the Woodland Wizard, Barney shows his friends how to stay safe on the internet and social networking sites and also the effect cyberbullying has on others. Caught in the Web is supported by the UK Council for Child Internet Safety and The Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre. Sometimes we read stories about super heroes, sometimes we read stories about princesses, and sometimes we read educational books. My kids love it all. Reading has been a huge part of their life since they were born and I really believe that it has helped them develop their language, stimulate their imagination and boost their creativity.The other day I was given a free promotional copy of the book Animal Tails by Dan Jackson. It was an ebook, so we got to read it on the ipad, which my kids are huge fans of. The book is really great. Each page is a nice quality picture of a different animals' tail, with some text about the purpose of their tail for their species. It is clearly written and both my kids ages 4 and 2 understood it and were very interested in it. I loved that it was educational, yet interesting and I even learned some things that I didn't know. I would highly recommend this book to anyone looking for some educational reading for their kids. Animals Tails is not "JUST" a Book. It's really a good book. Many will remember Texas History Movies, a cartoon booklet that was distributed to Texas history students from the 1920s through the 1960s by Mobil Oil with its familiar Flying Red Horse logo. For decades Texas History Movies taught thousands of school children the varied history of Texas, from Columbus to the discovery of oil. Though the original version is now considered racist, it was for many students their first and only taste of Texas history. It is with great pride that the Texas State Historical Association announces the publication of our newest version of this timeless Texas history classic by the late Jack Jackson, award-winning scholar and illustrator. The New Texas History Movies is a totally revised edition with new cartoon strips and text by Jackson. Jackson gained fame as an underground cartoonist in the 1960s and, later, as an independent scholar who specialized in the history of the Spanish presence in Texas.
